Maintenance and minor repairs to kitchen elements and components should be done by the tenant. You should think of
- Cleaning and adjustments to cabinet doors.
- Cleaning of the extractor hood. This is very important. If this is not done properly, this can cause a fire.
- Maintenance to the drains, wall units, pan racks, etc.
- Cleaning the hob / cooker. On a hotplate spots will rapidly appear and discolour by the heat. Clean it immediately after dinner, when leftovers aren’t sticking to the surface. You can get it easily free of grease by using a solution of household detergent and water. Don’t use abrasive or scourer as they leave scratches.
- Removal of lime scale.
