A gas heater is used for local heating and works on gas.
On the right side there usually is a start knob on a safety valve with control buttons and also a copper temperature sensor of the thermostat. The heater is ignited by pushing the start knob for 30 seconds and ignite the pilot light with a match.
Often aluminium tubes of twelve to twenty centimetres in diameter are used for the discharge of the combustion gases and for a connection with the chimney. A modest supply of fresh air is always required when using a gas heater.
Besides, for a few decades almost all new houses have been equipped with natural gas-fired central heating.
