Energy saving

Do you want to save energy? Find several useful tips here.

Weather stripping

Many rooms suffer from drafts especially if they are older, because wind is blowing through cracks and holes a lot of energy is lost. When a crack is larger than 7 mm the landlord is responsible, if otherwise the tenant. In case of small cracks, weather stripping is an adequate solution and it only costs a couple of euros. Weather stripping can be used as well with gaps under doors, window frames and behind the mailbox. Please check with the hardware store which type of weather stripping can be used in your situation.

Radiator foil

Because a radiator is often attached to a wall, a lot of energy is lost. The radiator is heating the wall instead of your room. Radiator foil is an easy and cheap solution. The foil reflects the heat radiation back into the room. It’s available in every hardware store; you only have to cut it to the right size and stick it to the wall behind to radiator.
